The central city of Da Nang will host the 2012 International Paramotor Contest from May 23 to 27, the local government announced on Tuesday.
The event will take place along the beach near Pham Van Dong Park.
The first three days of the event will consist of paramotor exhibitions for locals and tourists to enjoy, as well as familiarize themselves with the sport.
The remaining two days will see 70 athletes from the UK, the US, France, China, South Korea, Japan, Germany and Spain compete in four categories.
The event, organized jointly by Vietnamese companies and their Japanese partners, will include other events including a country-style fair, and stone and painting exhibitions.
The cost of putting on the event is estimated at VND15 billion (US$719,500).
