The TripAdvisor awards ceremony was held in Singapore on Tuesday, Vietnam News Agency reported.
It said Hanoi and HCMC ranked 14th and 15th respectively, while the ancient town of Hoi An was 17th, and Ha Long, the world famous bay in the northern province of Quang Ninh, was 25th.
Speaking to the news agency, Robin Ingle, senior vice president of advertising for TripAdvisor, said it is impressive that Vietnam has four destinations on the list.
Vietnam is now highly attractive to many international tourists, she said.
The fifth of its kind, TripAdvisor’s Top 25 Destinations for 2013 named Thailand’s Bangkok as the top Asian destination, followed by Japan’s Tokyo and China’s Beijing, through its members’ choices and reviews.
It has been estimated that every month the travel website records more than 60 million visits, receiving over 75 million reviews of destinations, including hotels and restaurants worldwide.
